Tranny???
Driving home the other night and taking off from a red light I heard a POP!
Pulled over, It would do nothing in drive or lower. It would go in reverse though. Btw,, it's an auto. Anyway had it towed and I just knew it would be the shift cable,, ordered it and had it replaced, nope! Still no drive or 1,2nd,,, I have no idea.. The car has been stored for the last 3 years! Vengeance installed the tranny and never had any signs of going out,, a any thoughts on this?
Thx
Wes
Maybe something broke inside, how loud was the pop?
I would bet your warranty is gone, but maybe have that shop check the car out, maybe since they did the work before, they would give you somewhat of a break, or not.
I guess you could try checking the transmission fluid, but I'm guessing it's more serious.
Years and years ago on my old 1965 Chevy truck (it had TH 350 trans at the time), I had it parked for not even as long as you, a year and 1/2, started it up and it would not move, just engine rev, I think it barely went in reverse, so I checked the transmission fluid and it was low, topped it off and all was well.
Once I got it pulled out there was a stain on the concrete where it leaked.

See if you can rotate that OFF THE GROUND wheel.
You should NOT be able to move it easily. It should have some break away torque required to move the wheel and once it starts moving, it should be smooth.
Do the other wheel the same way.
If you broke an output shaft, you will easily find it. It will FREE WHEEL pretty easily.. and it may turn ROUGH.

I will try this! So in neutral the one tire should not be able to turn with ease by hand correct?
I have it on craigslist to sell, but I'm thinking of just keeping it depending how much I have to sink into this! I'm just wondering if it's repairable or have to buy one.. There's nothing else wrongs with her and I will never get what I've put in it..
Thanks again for all the input.. Also any ideas where I can take this on the south side of Atlanta? I would halve Vengeance do it again, but there way up in cumming..
