Default magnetic shocks interchangeable?

I have a 2003 50th anniversary with f55 magnetic shocks, my right rear is shot the others are weak, my question is ... I found some new rear shocks at a good price ,they are listed for a f55 2008 to 2013 with fe2 suspension , my suspension is listed as fe1, does anybody know if these shocks will work for my 2003? thanks

I don't think they will work. There are multiple generations of ride control and the '03 is the first year of the MSRC. My guess is that those are 2nd generation shocks and may not be compatible with the MSRC controller in the C5.

I think physically they are the same and should bolt right in, but I am also worried about the compatibility of the electronics with the c5 and the c6 shocks and controlers. this is the part that is questionable. I found the c6 f55 OPTION with FE2 suspension shock much cheaper that's why I am asking, hummmm wonder if anybody know's???

Would you consider removing the Mag ride control? You can get C6Z06 shocks and have the system disabled by the Dealer via GM Tech II.... You will want to search for the directions on what menus to look for and adjust because most GM techs will tell you it cant be done because they dont know how and have never seen it done..

10313647 – C6 Z06 Front Shocks
25819268 – C6 Z06 Rear Shocks

you can swap shocks and reprogram and be done for 400-500 tops. Otherwise it is BIG $$$$$$$$$$$ for F55 shocks.

As for compatibility I would think you will need to find the voltage ranges for both shocks and give it a try... dont know how they will work...

yes I am considering doing the zo6 shocks and I will if I can't get f55 shocks at a reasonable price, I live in Kitchener Ontario, I called two local dealers to remove the f55 option with no luck ,does anybody know of anybody-dealer that will perform the f55 elimination of the f55 option within a reasonable distance( niagara falls - buffalo ny ok), again I seen the c6 2008 -2013 f55 ,FE2 SHOCKS for $385 compared to $515 for 2003-2007 shocks,
