Default Chuck Cow tune

I have added the TI exhaust and installed the Vararam CAI...was thinking about doing a tune to enhance these upgrades.
I have read some very disturbing, seething, angry, vicious reviews on some other corvette sites and LS1 sights.
I guess my question is would you have Chuck tune your car? Have it dyno tuned? Any other suggestions or advise would be appreciated.

If those are the only 2 mods the car has I would not spend money on anyones tune yet. Save it until you have sufficient mods for a tune to make a difference you will notice. JMHO

LMAO!

Ive had Chuck tune my 02 ZO6, my 06 Z-51 Coupe (now sold) and my wifes 11 grand sport Vert. Each and every tune is SPOT ON and impressive!

The man is a phenomenal tuner. Before you CROSS HIM OFF YOU TUNER LIST,,, Call him and talk to him..

I'm VERY SURE, you will change you mind..

Way back when, there were TUNER WARS. People would go out of their way to trash tuners to make them lose customers.

I will STAKE MY REPUTATION on this forum, that if you have Chuck tune you car and you DO NOT LIKE THE TUNE,, ,, HE will reprogram you PCM back to stock, refund your CASH and you will be able to call it a day!

Chuck is NOT out to rip people off or provide sub standard TUNING!

He is one of the most knowledgeable tuners that I have ever met.. Another phenomenal tuner that I have met is Justin Abbot ( ZIP Corvette Parts)

If either of these people tune your C5,C6 or C7,, You will be VERY happy!

Chucks mail order tune is second to NONE!
He fixes peoples mail order tunes that some OTHER FAMOUS tuners sware by!

Before you judge Chuck,, CALL him and talk to him... I will give you my word, that you will be IMPRESSED!

with those mods i suggest a ECS or COW mail order tune. I have read many times about how many happy people have them and love them. makes a good difference especially with a Auto trans. I was going to use one of them before i did my LS7 exhaust and decided a good Dyno tune is what i wanted.

Pretty crazy how the forums operate.... I really only have to advertise on the Corvette Forum where you

can see I'm pretty well regarded and supported by all of my good customers.

LS1 Tech, while owned by the same people that own this forum, Is VERY different with regards to

rules and what you are allowed to say and do. I do not advertise on LS1 Tech as that site is dominated by

young boys that own 4th gen F-Bodies and fix them up with parts they buy E-bay. It's not the customer base

I've decided to market to and hence, I have no supporters there.

Corvette Forum is one of the most civilized forums you can be a member of and I wouldn't (and don't)

waste my time anywhere else.

I'm not on those forums to defend myself and clearly you can see how people on there behave.

I find it strange that I've likely tuned more Corvettes than just about any vendor on this forum (and all other LSx cars and truck too)

and all we find is good reviews and raves about our CoW BOOSTER!, tuning, and other services. Go figure.

It's pretty sad.

Just by adding the CAI you need to tune the car (if you want it to run correctly). The Mass Air Flow sensor if running on a factory setting. It need to be remapped and I would be call Chuck to get the works. Engine Tune, Trans Tune And the topper Cow Booster. My 2 Cents.

Chuck Cow is the best and from my experience with these LS motors you need a tune .With these engines if you put a different fuel in them they start to buck and kick
I installed the Viraram and the engine had to be retuned by Chuck,I had the bucking bronk when you would come to a stop light and Chuck tuned that out for me for free after doing the tune years ago.
Call Chuck what can it hurt

personally I would stay away from mail order tunes in general, not saying the one in question is a bad tuner I have just seen bad things happen with mail tunes... I would much rather have someone with my car right in front of them tuning it and not plugging in someone else's numbers into your pcm... one small thing could be off and cause a driveability issue and you have to get a hold of the tuner, log it so they can see what's going on which many people do not have access to, send the pcm back and wait for them to make more changes and send it back hoping that will fix it... if you have access to the tuning program they use you can have them send you a file and you can write it yourself but this still takes time and not everyone has hptuners or whatever they use and the problem could be something a tuner would fix on the spot if they were actually tuning your car... the only thing I have seen them useful for is getting a base tune in a car after heavy mods so it will run in order to get it to a tuner

I have used Chuck's tuning service quite a bit, and on several cars.

If I had it to do all over again I'd go with a Cow Booster right away every time. I love it. If you have an automatic transmission the his trany tune is a must as well.

Even if you just have a few mods now and plan to do more later then the tuning service is worth it. Chuck set me up with an AutoCal and a wide band sensor. And I can now datalog the car and e-mail in the log. Chuck makes adjustments and sends a new tune file. In the end it is tuned really well for the entire rpm range and not just wide open throttle (dyno tune).

I am now having my converter re-adjusted (re-stalled) right now. It will be in the car in a few weeks. Again I will makes some passes on the car and datalog them. I send them in to Chuck and he makes any needed adjustments. It's all part of the tuning service. So when you do make changes he is there for you to make adjustments all along the way. For me that was worth a lot.

Chuck, the sword of the Internet I understand your position.

I'm a hillbilly backyard home grown tuner, the only reason I've had any success is of mentor's that have put up with my lack of understanding.

Being hillbilly I've trouble with your marketing, it must work for you & good on you to stick with it. Honestly it is a reason I've never responded to your posts & marketing. Take that for what it is. A few very well respected members have endorse your abilities otherwise I would not responded to a post like this.

Are you able to control acceleration in each gear? I drove a Callaway SC 427 & was so impressed how composed it was in each gear with TC on or off. I don't need your "COW BOOSTER", in fact the opposite. Is this something you can do?

When I had my 00 vert 6 speed I put on a blackwing cai, lg street series long tube headers with high flow cats and X - pipe and the Z06 Ti over the axle. Sent the computer to Chuck at COW for a bench tune and it was more than I expected. A tune by Chuck is money well spent.

Thank you. YES, my marketing continues to work well for me. For some magical reason I can't explain,

it attracts the type of customers I want and does not seem to be the "cheese" for those whom I would rather

not deal with. Likely, that's the reason that the people I do my work for seem to be sooo very passionate about

me and what I do and why the business continues to grow. I would not change a thing.

Yes, we can use the CoW BOOSTER! to make the throttle LESS sensitive too. Unfortunately, it can not

be done by GEAR, but I can use the TC ON/OFF button to toggle 2 different modes of throttle response.

Let me know if you need help with it.

Using the TC on/off is an interesting compromise, still retaining it's normal function?

Nothing changes with the function of the TCC.

We're just simply using the button to ALSO change the CoW BOOSTER! throttle modes.

For instance....Traction ON = less sensitive throttle and TC OFF/COMP/ALL OFF - AGGRESSIVE CoW BOOSTER!.

There are only 2 modes for 06' up Vettes. TC/ON and ALL THE REST.

Lots of guys have me do that.

I don't post much here, but I do like to read the posts about tuners. I have an '06 Trailblazer SS which was one of the first ones out. I had the Diablosport tuner the week it became available. It made a slight difference. I then had another company install their tune through the Diablo unit. A little better. Chuck came down to Florida and spent 4 hours on my truck and all I can say is Wow! I have the CoW unit so I can send data logs to Chuck and he can make changes if I ever need. What he does is far more than most other tuners can do. Also, as far as engine issues, I just rolled past 125k on orig motor. Chuck knows what he is doing.

Chuck has never touched my car, but I've heard nothing but great things from those who have used his tunes. I wouldn't hesitate to use him as a tuner from what I have heard of his reputation.

Funny you bash LS1Tech, but when members HERE want to make power, they ask their questions THERE. It's also a site that isn't ran like Camaro5 (or here for that matter) where the sponsors have the final say in everything, and have bad reviews or comments deleted.

As for the rest of my opinion, I'll keep it professional and to myself. But bashing Tech is absolutely absurd.
I guess I'm missing someones post, that was bashing the LS1 tech?
