Ok, here's the deal. Just installed an Alky Controll Kit in my 04 Z06 that has 15K miles on it. All hooked up but not in service. Didn't fool with anything that would affect running or operation of the car. Went to start it and, nothing. All gauges work and sweep like normal, battery is fully charged. So....started fooling with the clutch switch and it started....got it right? Wrong. Bypassed the switch and same deal, had to fool with the plug for the switch, got it right? Wrong!! Bypassed that and same deal. Finally figured out that I have to hold the key in the start position for about 5-10 seconds......then it will start!!!
you didn't happen to tap into any of the ignition switch wires did you?... if so I would find another 12v source other than the ignition wires

Nice to have this place for info, it sure saves a lot of time and effort.
The 04 C5 doesn't have the AUX Power pig tail wiring harness in the passengers foot well that all the other C5s did. That being said, ALL C5s have a SPARE IGNITION SWITCH circuit that you can ADD A Wire and terminal and be able to have a switched HOT circuit.
Here is the Ignition switch that shows the UN-USED switch:
