Default Cam Install

Looking for some info on a cam install with the engine in the car and the heads still on. Used the search but didn't come up with anything. Would like to get some torque values also for the oil pump, cam gear, rockers, etc. Thanks.

He did a head/cam swap but it'll have the torque values you're looking for:

Hate that web site, many things in error and the source of many damaged crankshafts.

Check out LS1Tech, it's a good forum. LS1Howto is OK. It has some good pictures. There loads of threads on this site, you just have to search.

Thank you all for your help. I'll let you know how it goes. Many new parts going on. New Mezierre electric water pump, 8-rib system, RPS Triple Carbon Clutch, valve springs, trunion upgrade, overdrive balancer etc.

The really bad advice is pulling the balancer back on with the bolt, you need a special tool or homemade one to pull it back on.

Several torque values are wrong or ignored. It's OK for photos but be careful on the technical details.

DO NOT FORGET to use HIGH STRENGTH Locktite on the CAM GEAR and CAM PLATE retainer bolts!!

Are you getting a timing chain damper?? Is your block factory drilled for the dampener???

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...in-damper.html

SUMMIT has a kit if the block isn't drilled that will fit.

Can't the block be drilled and tapped for the chain dampener?

YES IT CAN!! But, that process is normally beyond most peoples capability.

You have to get or make the template and EXACTLY locate the drill spots. If you are off one way or the other, the chain will always be hard against the dampener and wear it out prematurely.

Most people have it done when the engine is out and being rebuilt.

There have been a couple people who have done it in place but, it isn't something most people would undertake.
