Security Light, No start
I am going to politely back out of this thread and leave it to those that know WAY more than I do about this system... watch and learn
GOOD LUCK I know these guys will get you going

73corvette I just just cleared all codes and drove it around until it heated up to try and get a no start, sure enough once the car got hot it didn't start. pulled the following codes once I got it started again.
C1214 h c
B0361 h
B0441 h
B2721 h.
Once I got it fired back up again I got a message to service abs, traction, active handling. I let it idle for two mins then turned it on and off again and everything was all good.
Just an update on how the problem has been partially solved. I ended up taking it into a dealer and it did in fact need a new ignition cylinder which I had replaced and it took care of any no starts related to the security light. Since then it has randomly not started twice with same symptoms but no security lights or anything. I took it back to the dealer and they said my clutch pedal switch may be doing it but they weren't sure so they replaced it anyway free of charge and it was great all day but didn't start last night, after waiting for 5 mins the car started right up. On the first start of the day the car will crank over for a while before it actually kicks over and starts. I'm thinking it may be rusted connections on the starter now or the starter itself, just weird how it randomly won't even crank over sometimes. Anymore suggestions?
Thanks

The delayed (extended cranking issue) is most likely the result of a bad fuel system check valve allowing fuel to drain back into the fuel tank when car sits over night. Turn the ignition switch ON & OFF, ON & OFF three or four times and then see if it will crank and run quicker! That primes the fuel line and allows the system to build up the proper fuel pressure before you crank the engine.
The wont crank when the ignition switch is turned to CRANK issue is most likely a sticky/defective Starter SOLENOID. Well known issue for C5!

Intermittent starter? Yup, just went through that with a friend and his C5 nearby. I went over, jumped the starter contacts and the car started right up. Replaced the clutch switch and all was well, for about 3 starts. Then back to no start. He ended up putting in a new starter.

Thanks for the insight Bill. Id like to think I usually wait for the fuel pump to prime fully but Im sure there are times where I just get in and go. I thought it was a problem with either a bad starter or bad connections on the starter so I advised the mechanic to take a look at that. Ill let you guys know how it goes.

Just a quick update here and some thanks to give out.
It turns out that my car had two separate issues 1. Being the ignition cylinder worn out and needing to be replace 2. Bad solenoid as suggested from multiple people. This was obviously the reason as to why there was what seemed like no consistent issues. Car has been starting up great in the past two weeks since having everything replaced (knock on wood) and I have been enjoying the hell out of it. I especially want to thanke 8VETTE7, Bill Curlee, and 73Corvette for the advice and pointing me in the right direction and also anyone else that chimed in.
I made the great decision to install my headers before the the problem was diagnosed and one of them obviously had to be removed in order to get at the starter which resulted in at least double the labour charge.
Hope this helps any of you dealing with the same issues!
Thanks again guys
