Who did you talk to?
If you are looking at C6 headers...no they would not fit the C5. Bell housings are different, the muffler connections are different, and the length is also different being the C6 has a 1.5" longer wheel base. Would they bolt up to the engine, sure they would do that.
Also you would not have the AIR fittings that the C5's due since the C6 never had them.
That being said, our C5 headers are the same for 97-04 cars be it the Street Series, 1 3/4 Super Pro, or 1 7/8 Super Pro's just different accessory kits for the different years based on what you have.
C6 cars have a few other differences again based on the year of the car and if it is a base model, Z06, or ZR1. You can flip some parts around on the C6s and put a Z06 kit on a base car for example with the correct mufflers or adapter pipes....but different story. Mixing C5 to c6 however is not quite that easy..
