Fuse 29 - current draw
Last week i left a battery tender on the battery (unhooked from the car) for 2-3 days. I hooked everything up, started the car up and drove it to work.
By that afternoon, there wasn't enough juice left to start the car.
so I started hunting the current draw. I think I narrowed it down to fuse 29 courtesy lamp. Prior to pulling that fuse, current was 88 mA. After pulling the fuse it dropped to 15mA.
How can i fix this other than leaving the fuse out? The lights aren't on, so why is it drawing current? Does that circuit have any other loads on it?
I also pulled the fuse for the tonneau cover. Not even sure why my car had a fuse in that position. But it didn't change anything on the current draw.
I also found my glove glove box light was staying on all the time. My glove box door is sagging on the right side and doesn't close the switch to turn off the light. So I removed the bulb there.

If thats the case, I leave my HP Tuners module plugged into the OBDII all the time, regardless of if I have my laptop plugged on or not. Could this be the reason this circuit doesnt ever drop out?
Will test this theory tonight as well.

But im down to 15 mA now. So we will see if the battery stays charged.

15ma is an outstanding reading that will provide you a LONG LONG reserve capacity on the battery.
My 02 ZO6 draws 20ma and I let it sit for 32 days and she started up just fine when I returned. Yes the battery needed to be charged but,,,,,,,,,, it still started just fine.
Bill
I really think this fixed the problem.
And I have verified the 15mA on multiple occasions during this scenario when its really in sleep mode.
I agree with 8VETTE7 that removing the glove box light wasnt necessary, I was just looking for anything at that point.
