I have a 2002 coupe 6 speed and it starts but shuts right back off , my display flashes no oil level so I assume it's the switch in the side of the oil pan that's bad. I have not checked for codes , I had to be somewhere so I drove my second car but I can check later. Just wanted to see if anyone has had the same issue as this before. Thanks for any input

100%

Try and HOLD the key to the start position a little longer and see if the engine will run while you hold it there.

YES,, read and post ALL the DTCs

the only codes that are stored are for the ABS and the hvac system , oil level is fine and I did try to hold the key to make sure it was not the ignition switch. There is a oil level switch in the oil pan but I have not got the car in the air to check it yet.

The switch in the oil pan is a LOW OIL switch BUT,,, It will NOT cause the car to not start or not run.

I agree with Bill that the car will start and run EVEN if the sensor is bad or the wiring/connector is damaged.
What gets me is I just drove the car the day before yesterday and had no problems and I get in it today to and it starts and then dies out. I guess I will check the wires on the switch and then check my fuel pressure and see what it's reading . Thanks everyone for your input , when I find the problem I will post it up.

Mine would start and dye after I got a mail order tune. After about 8 tries it ran fine.

I don't see how this would apply to yours because I think it is some sort of learn process in the PCM.

Did you make any other changes to the engine or electrical components?
