More than just a bad remote
I never did that again until maybe a month later my son and I went to a football game where I locked it again and went through the same thing.
Three weeks ago my battery failed so I picked up another red top and thought all would be good.
I drove 10 miles or so to get a book and tried to arm it at the bookstore. No go. I started messing with it when I got home and haven't gotten anywhere. I read all the posts to relearn, and synch but nothing works.
My fob is less than a year old.
Any ideas where to go next? I thought the fob would relearn due to the new battery.
Thanks

Then a successful relearn for ALL the fobs that you have.
If you cant get a successful relearn, something is wrong.
Bill
I take it this isn't good.
The rest of the codes are:
10 PCM no codes
28 TCS 2 codes
38 RTD no comm
40 BCM no codes
60 IPC 1 code
80 RADIO no comm
99 HVAC 2 codes
A0-LDCM 3 codes
A1-RDCM 3 codes
A6-SCM 2 codes
BO-RFA no codes
TPMS work somewhat. They tell me I have low pressure in the tires but with the temp change here all my cars with TPMS say that for a bit but the vette has always said it. I had an oil change done an they topped off the air and it was good for a while but now we have hot/cold daily changes so im not sure. The vette is a very rare driver: two kids, two boyfriends, one wife always working so: rare driver.

All the Bxxxx code that you listed are most likely the result of a low or weak battery. You mention that the car is not driven often. Do you keep the car connected to a battery tender during periods of sitting in the garage?? You might consider doing that when the car won't be driven for more than a week or two. The battery on a C5 will slowly drain during longer periods of not being driven and not having a nearly fully charged battery when you go to start the car can be hard on the electronics in the car. Many sensors go through initialization and/or calibration when the key is turned to ON and BEFORE the engine is running and the alternator trying to recharge the battery. If the voltage is low those diagnostics and calibrations can fail and set codes or worse yet cause relays to fry because of low voltage levels. The car may start fine because the starter requires a large current which can be produced even by low voltage. Most electronics are voltage sensitive and do not require large currents and can fail/perform at reduced levels if the voltage is low. Once the car starts having voltage from the alternator is too late for these types of sensors.
Getting back to your FOB issue, if there are no codes for the B0 - RFA and NONE of the buttons on the FOB work then something has happened to the FOB. Here is a common failure on the early year FOB's:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...em-solved.html
You may need a magnifying glass to carefully examinr the board for the FOB for cracked solder joints. Also the holder for the battery is known to break............

FOLLOW IT.
However, you have NOT confirmed that you have properly tried to RETRAIN YOUR FOBS and if they TRAINED SUCCESSFULLY.
Try to retrain them and report the results.
LOL! "BO-RFA NO CODES" is the GOLD STANDARD!
Thats what ALL of the modules should report, if they are properly working.
if YOU HAD A BO-RFA NO COMMUNICATIONS,,, Now that would be bad because the module either isn't working or able to communicate with all the other modules on the serial data line.
HVAC 2 codes 2 codes means that there are TWO separate DTCs that you need to use the buttons on the IPC to further EXPAND and show those DTCs EXAMPLE B0361 & B0332
CLEAR ALL THE CODES and then,,,,,,,,,,,,,, report what comes back.
YES. A weak or defective battery will set a **** load of DTCs! They mean nothing other than the electrical system was NOT happy because some of the modules shut down on low voltages like they were designed to do if the supply voltages drops below 8.5 VDC .

I have not driven Ives much since I put in my new battery so I'll tell the wife " I got to drive the car right now!"
then pull ill all the codes again?
it's Friday night so at least one girl will be out while the other one's boyfriend is working so he can hang with us on Sunday.
I may not post up for a couple days until I get my facts in order.
I appreciate your your patience with me.
60 IPC B1543 H
Oil Temperature Circuit Open
But it's an H so?
I tried to do the seven second hold both buttons, to no avail so a little later I'll try the thing in the car again but I'm thinking the remote needs work, since so many people have had to do it.
