I have a new McCleod RXT with 3000miles. It has been flawless since it was installed. No racing, tracking, burnouts or what have you. Today I came off the freeway and was waiting for the light. Clutch pedal to the floor, 1st gear and suddenly feel like when an automatic trans shifts into gear. A slight thunk, I let clutch out and all is well. After an hour or two of stop and go, it starts to happen again, only if car is in 1st with pedal fully depressed. If I put it in neutral (pedal in or out), everything is normal. Now I'm beginning to feel a grief grinding on the shifter (like Sanding......NOT a tooth grinding sound) and shifter is getting hard to shift into several gears.....other times shifter smoothly goes into each gear as normal. Now with pedal fully in and shifter in first it acts like it's partially engaged....trying to pull car forward.
I saw another post from 2015 in which OP had same clutch and very similar symptoms......did not see a final disposition. So, I ask for the help of the Corvette Gurus. What say you?
I agree. Check the floor under your clutch pedal to see if there is clutch fluid. That would be the master cylinder. Also check the firewall and under the car for leaks
No obvious leaks. Dry footwell and nothing under car. I pulled off the console and checked shifter alignment. Seems to be dead on. However, now with clutch pedal to floor the smooth shifting with engine off turns into a wrestling match with engine on. Several times going through gears I got the grinding gear noise. Not liking this...not one bit.
When the clutch was put in, a new pilot bearing and GM slave were also placed amongst other things. That having been done might narrow this to master? How often does a brand new GM master go bad?:confused
A slave and or a master do not have to leak fluid externally to be bad some times they can internally bleed off. If the slave and master are new and properly installed with no air in the system there are a couple other things to look at. If your pedal does not have enough free play at the top it screws up the hydraulic system up and will cause funny pedal issues. You should have about a inch of pedal movement before the throw out bearing hits the pressure plate. Then the last thing I would look at is that the c5 is known to have a sticky clutch pedal if the hydraulic system gets to much of the friction material in it (most always bleeding the system fixes this) so if this particular clutch disk is dirty and expels a lot of dust it could be the problem.

This is a common problem with this clutch. I have the same problem. I changed all components and bleed the **** out off it. Same problem. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ail-101-a.html. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...never-end.html
Check these out. These clutches are a hit or miss. I have the exact problem you have. If you figure it out some how without changing the clutch that would be awesome. But i doubt it.
