Not sure how the Callaway Honker got overlooked...a true CAI that is very well engineered.

What a joke, 3 of the systems add virtually no hp/tq or even better intermediate response. A naturally aspirated engine can only make more hp by having cooler, more condensed, air or by changing the tune. Even changing the accordian coupler to a smooth coupler will cause a hp decrease without altering the tune.

Agree. Most of those aré pointless that suck hot air. Calloway and vararam aré some of the better options

Here is a scan of before and after dyno tests of a stock C5 (before) and with the only modification being a Halltech C5 Venom cold air intake installed.

Done by East Coast Supercharging on December 18, 2008.

And the reported results, from page 132 of HP Books, CHEVY LS BUILDUPS copywright 2011:

A gain of 36.5 HP and 23.4 FT-LB.

Yes a stock c5 6sp will show about 305-310 rwhp. The best way to show less hp on a stock intake is to have a dirty filter. Also, was a cooling fan used during the test, it will also give different results. It would have been better to show the differences in IAT for a valid comparison.

The 3 best for the C5 in no particular order are the Vararam, Honker, and if you can find one Halltech TRAP.
