Well, I just got finished with a fiasco getting my vette to stop boiling over.
It hasn't been boiling or heating up since I changed out my thermostatand burped it a few times.
So I thought that I was in the clear.
After driving around all day I park in the garage to find coolant inside my engine bay and it is NOW coming from this hose attachment . There's a crack in it.
Can anyone please tell me what this is called or a part number or something so that I can replace it and finally drive around without worrying about coolant? Its the plastic piece with an arrow on it.
Without any more information, I believe that is the inlet rubber heater hose which would explain the directional check valve. That hose goes in the furthest most back point of the thermostat housing. There is another hose in "front" of it which I believe is the outlet heater hose.

Youre absolutely right.
I just went and bought a new heater hose connector that I plan in installing tonight.
Fingers crossed

I've never seen one either, at first sight I thought it might have been one of those valves used to flush coolant systems... I would replace the whole hose and eliminate that plastic piece if it were my car

Although I replaced the OE hoses on my '01, several years ago (new hoses are silicone), my OE hoses did not have that check valve, either.
