Hey guys, I know that the door control modules are a weak point on the C5 Corvettes, but I'm somewhat dumbfounded on the electrical issues going on with mine (2001 z06).
Everything works great on the driver's side. The passenger windows won't roll up or down at all, but I can lock and unlock the door using the door lock switch on the passenger side, and I'm also able to lock the passenger door using the driver door switch and keyfob. However, I can't unlock the passenger door using the driver door switch or my key fob. I can definitely hear the switch trying the roll the windows up and down too, but no movement at all.
I went out today and took the door control module from the driver's side and put it on the passenger side to test it and had the exact same issues, which makes me think it's a wiring problem with the door; but, I've also taken the accordion in the door off and messed with the wires while trying to roll the window up and down, and have had no luck. I really want to figure this out because the window isn't rolled up 100% and I believe that's where my small interior leak is coming from. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hmmm, the chances of BOTH up and down relays going bad is pretty slim but, stranger things have happened. Have you tried moving the wire bundle inside of the accordion shaped rubber sleeve between the door and body to see if it makes contact ? If you strike out there I would pull the door panel, unplug the wires to the window motor, rig-up a temp. positive & negative wire from the battery and touch the 2 terminals on the motor to see if the motor works. If not It could be the window relays.
The relays for the driver side are good, everything on the door works when it's hooked up to the driver side, but not the passenger side. I did take the accordion off and disconnected the connector/jiggled the connector with no luck. I would think that the (functional) driver side control module would've corrected the issue when I swapped it over to test it, but it didn't. Even if the window motor is the culprit, it still doesn't explain the issue of the door locking but not unlocking while using both control modules

Just for the heck of it, try what I called the WACK method to get your passenger's window to work. I doubt it will correct the door lock issue but with all the C5 electrical gremlins, one never knows.
Thanks for the response. Once the weather clears up again, I'm going to pull the door panel back off and try to jar the window motor loose and see if that's the problem. These things just seem like electrical nightmares...
Pop out the rubber accordion tube between the door and body. Fish up the two connectors out of the BODY HOLE.
Fine the SIX PIN POWER CONNECTOR and disconnect it. CAREFULLY examine the FEMALE PINS. Make sure that they are not spread apart and making poor contact with the male pins.
A poor fitting connection limits the current to the module and can make them not work properly.
You can use an old or purchase a spare metal male pin and do a push/pull test on the female pins to insure that they are making proper grip on the male pins in the connector.
IF,,,,,,,,, the male pins slips in and out easy in the female pin, you may have found the issue!!!
Thanks for the reply Bill, I've read your posts religiously since I bought this thing, they're a godsend tbh. I got the lock issue figured out, it was a bad connection it seems, and I smacked the window motor a few times and jarred it loose finally. The leak is coming in from the A pillar below the vent. I did my best to seal it up with some glazing silicone (pic below), so I'll see how it does tonight when it inevitably pours down rain. The more I read on these frcs/z06s, the more I learn that they have some serious electrical/leak issues. A few of the engineers at GM deserve a good a$$ whooping.
