Again if 100 more is your goal i think you’d be smog passible at any cam that is 224 duration or less. I’m not very cam math knowledgeable when it comes to degrees of overlap and things which I’m sure is where your smog issues come in. Write customer service at tick or Texas speed, tell them your goals and see if they can get you a grind. I got a cam kit from tick and I was very impressed with everything. Both companies have great support. Can’t go wrong with either one. Good luck 👍

Honestly... to be smog legal and to make 100RWHP you really need to get a A&A Supercharger... To get a gain of 100RWHP NA you'll need heads, decent cam, and long tube headers.. none which is Smog Legal in CA. The costs of heads, CAM, long tubes, and CAI will be as much as a A&A Supercharger and your drivability will be worse and make less power. I can get you a A&A Supercharger at a great price with 0% financing

100rwhp from where? A bone stock LS1 ~310 rwhp?

If so my plan would be:

243 heads
02-04 LS6 cam with 1.8 rockers or LPE GT2-3 cam stock rockers with a bushed trunion uprgade (CHE or Straub)
Valve spring to handle the cam/rocker above
Dorman LS2 Intake or FAST 92 Intake, LS2 TB
Cold air intake of your choice
Catback of your choice Z06 Ti if you want quiet
C6Z manifolds have been used in California and get very respectable gains. I would take them over shorty headers.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...t-in-a-c5.html

Also do the supporting mods outline by Bill Curlee injectors, bolts, balancer, tune etc.

You may not get the full 410rwhp but I would expect ~380-400rwhp.

I am not an expert on CARB rules so you would need to consult local shops. If you can go bigger on the cam I would and not go with the LS6 cam 1.8 rockers or LPE GT2-3 stock rocker.

Made 456/420:

AI 241 HCR heads
223/235 113 + 2 Cam
Fast 92/ls2 TB(not ported-plan to port over the winter)
55 LBS injectors
LG 1 1-3/4 catted headers
Also did all the reliability stuff, caddy lifers new oil pump, chain, prods etc.

Paired with 3.90s its a surprisingly quick car IMO.

Go with an iron block 6.2 and forced induction. You can run low boost and get to 550-600 depending on boost number. At low boost you can run a LS3 or LS7 with the proper internals but the block will take 600 rwhp. High boost and methanol gets you to 800. If you are going high HP go iron or an aluminum dart block. It will cost less money in the long run. I've run turbos but a SC will do if set up correctly. Your stock couplers are good to 1000 but they probably need to be replaced. Reinforce the tranny mount with a kit. The rear is ok if you use radials. If you try to stick with biased drag tires then you need to reassess your drivetrain. I've run 800 rwhp thru an AT with NEW stock couplers, a brace and an Eaton carrier with drag radials. That's not taking it to the strip every week or beating it up constantly. Heads aren't as big a problem with FI but they need to still be good and ported to your manifold.

the op can meet his goals with the aluminum block already in his car, there is no reason at all to go with an iron block in this case... it will just add more weight and run hotter

That's at 370whp, but I'm hoping for 450ish next year (heads, cam, intake manifold) and wondering what to expect.

Are torque tube couplers going to be a problem at 450whp for someone who doesn't drag race?
No. Not at all but they need to be newish.

Are those numbers at the wheels?

How is driveability around town?

yes whp on a dyno jet, tuned by Andrew at CSP. only time it gets unruly is below 1200 rpms with the AC on it can buck a little, but it is really a non factor.

A cam and spring swap with full exhaust can get you 100 extra but I don't believe it will be emission legal in Cali. You may have to go with some spray or a blower kit.
