and cylinder #2 the plug is loose!! I destroyed the wire when trying to remove it. The plug was finger tight... i swear i torqued them all down to 10 ft-lb. Heres what that plug looks like.

Should i install a new one and should i follow NGK specs for torque or GM?

hopefully this is part if the reason im getting smoke.
That wire is DEFINETLY arcing and those plugs look like it's running lean !!!

I guess i damaged the wires when i did my clutch install at the beginning of summer... i should have removed them when loosing header
the sharp flange of the header must have damaged it..

What torque spec would you use on ngk tr55 and what gap? Is it ok if i put some anti seize on the threads?

Well a loose plug may let extra O2 into the cylinder and cause a lean condition...and possibly low compression...a scan tool can’t tell you it was a loose plug but looking at the fuel trims you can tell...they would be positive...O2 sensors would be seeing a “lean” condition (low millivolts) and the fuel trims go positive...they go opposite !!.. but you have to have a GOOD understanding of O2 sensors and fuel trims. Even a shorting wire you might be able to see that reading fuel trims. I use an oscilloscope to check ignition systems...it’s faster and more accurate... I can look at each bank of 4 at one time and then the other

torque is 11 FOOT POUNDS (132 inch pounds).owners manual should tell you the gap..,2000 and earlier is .060” and 2001 and later are .040”...with a “cammed” engine I’d ask your tuner..,maybe not yours if they would recommend a different plug...a little anti seize only and use a spark plug wire with a rubber insert (you don’t want to crack the plugs porcelain) and also start the plug with a small length of rubber hose...you don’t want to cross thread the plug. #7 plug can be a bi$$h !!

11 is the number in my FSM...what size torque wrench are you using ???...if you are using say a 0-100 ft lb torque wrench it’s NOT going to be accurate at 11 sometimes...I’ve been using torque wrenches in the aviation industry for over 40 years now...if I torque something to say 132 I use a 0-200 inch-lb torque wrench...you want to be somewhere in the middle of the torque range...just snug it down but not to tight...you’ll be fine without a torque wrench !!

Agree with rwobs777... I use a standard torque wrench for mid that unit, and a much smaller one for things with low torque requirements.

Proto 6064C

im going 144 inch pound. I used the same tool last time and my torque wrench was calibrated in 2015. Im the only one that uses it and i take car of my tools.

i know i torqued it to 11 ft lb last time. Thats why im only going a little tighter.

i have a flat spot in both my front tires. Happened when my abs wasnt working and i locked front tires for about 150 feet on the highway.

maybe this slight vibrations along with this bad *** cam caused them to go loose...

Try that !!...remember..."if tight is right...more tighter is more righter" !!!...only kidding !!….and it's a good idea to use a LITTLE dab of di electric grease in the plug boot but not on the coil end...I don't know if you usually do this....you'll have your baby purring in no time !!
