car stalls
1998 corvette I started car this morning put in reverse , car moved 2 feet and shut off. I started again put in forward , it moved 2 feet and shut off. I kept doing this a few minutes , then it worked ok.

Sounds like the column lock is giving you issues. If you don't already have one, you should get the LMC-5 Column Lock Bypass and install it BEFORE you get stranded somewhere!!
If it is the column lock, you will for sure get the DTC.
