Default Starving for fuel

I just started my 2001 Vette after about a 6 week period during which I had a battery tender connected. It started immediately, and idles fine but as soon as I put it in gear and tried to drive it was starving for fuel and stalled. This happened several times and it was impossible to drive. I thought maybe the fuel pump, but not being much of a mechanic I figured some of the members might have an idea of what the problem is. Thanks for your assistance.

Are you SURE that you are not experiencing the dreaded COLUMN LOCK " 2 mph FUEL CUT OFF" issue???

Do you have a column lock BY-PASS Mod installed????? If NOT, that is most likely the problem. You need to check and see if you have a column lock bypass. If not, ORDER a LMC-5 Column Lock By-Pass and get it in ASAP.

QUESTION. Have you ever see the message, (remove key wait 10 seconds)?

Bill

I did see the message "Remove key - Wait 10 seconds" and tried it but there was no change. I ordered the LMC5 Module and viewed the installation video on YouTube. It looks simple enough, even for a novice like myself. Thank you for your response! I'll post the results of my efforts after I get the part.

Don't follow the youtube directions. They leave some steps out when doing the Brown wire mod listed on page 2 of the directions.. That part is listed on page 2 as "Optional"

There was no mention of a brown wire on the youtube video. Could that be one of the other modules that include the steering lock fix?

No, the "brown wire" is part of the LMC5 module.

I installed the LMC5 Module today following the instructions to the letter, and after a short test drive it seemed to be a success. However when I drove the car to take care of some errands after the third stop the "Remove key - wait 10 seconds" came on again. I did that but he message came on again. I called Compliance Parts, but was only able to leave a message. After about a 15 minute wait I tried starting the car again and it started normally. Not sure if the problem would surface again I drove home. I called Compliance Parts and spoke to Richard who after listening to my tale, said that does happen occasionally. He suggested that I try just turning the key to the "on" position periodically and see if the odometer is displayed or the dreaded message. He said if the message is displayed remove the key and wait 5 seconds to try again. If the odometer displays all is good. I've turned the key four times since then with one normal display and three "Remove key - wait 10 seconds" messages; all of which disappeared after waiting a few seconds and reinserting the key and turning it to the on position. I'll continue to try this process to see if it goes away, or I'll have to call Richard again.

Has anyone else had this same result?

My thanks to the members for their advice and support.

Sorry I haven't posted sooner; I was out of town. I spoke to Richard again and he said I would have to follow the steps on page 2 of the instructions and remove the brown wire from the rear connector and replace it with the brown wire on the module.

All is good now and my profound thanks to all who contributed to making this possible!
