So this started relatively recently. I had the transmission replaced by a local shop using a member heres transmission that had 20k on it. I've put about 1k on it but I suspect it's an installation issue? It only happens when I push in the clutch pedal, and in every gear. If I sit in neutral I hear nothing.
You may have to turn it up pretty loud to hear. It's a lot more obvious when you're just sitting in the car. (Ignore the change oil message, I just changed the oil)
Well,,,,,,,, Them having disassembled it, Did they replace anything other than the transmission????? Did they just remove the Trans/Diff or did they drop the DIFF/TRANS & TT also???? If they dropped the TT, they could have very well damaged the pilot bearing. NOT GOOD!!
YEP, sounds just like a pilot brg or throw out bearing. If it were me, I would drop the trans inspection cover and get an eye ball on the throw-out bearing. You cant see the pilot but they do go bad and tht can cause TT input shaft damage.
I agree with possibility of throwout bearing or pilot. Might be able to isolate the sound to that area better if car was up on a rack, but it sure sounds like one or the other.
