After 250k lost my first alternator
Last night while driving home I got a DIC message to check gages, I cleared the message but didn’t think much of it since the engine light didn’t come on. This morning I got a charging fault and then check gages message. I scanned my gages and noticed that the battery indicated 11.5 volts. The alternator quit after 250,000 miles. Not bad.

If you are going to take the rebuilt route, take a look at this post. It has info on the right regulators for both, 97-01 and 02-04. The price is around $30.
