Went out to start Vette this morning, FOB opened driver door but that was it. Got into car no lights ...nothing put in the key and nothing happened. This is the 4th time this has happened. Now when i get home from work it will turn over and start. Any help out there, I'm baffled.
Well first off do you have "basic" mechanical skills and do you possess say a 12 volt test light and a DVOM ????….if nothing happens...no lights...no nuthin...I'd look at your battery connections (at BOTH ends...getting under the car) making sure they are tightened correctly AND clean...and if you haven't had your battery tested recently that would be a step in the right direction !!
Check all your battery connections, this includes cables at the starter solenoid, cable terminals at the battery, positive cable connections at the relay fuse center in the engine bay and cable connection at the relay fuse center in the passenger footwell area as well, and don't forget to check the ground connection as well, hope this helps.
When this happens nothing works, fob doesn't work either. And after it sets in driveway all day I'll come home from work fob works and it starts right up! So im not sure what to check. Co worker mention Autozone does a free diagnostic check. Think I might give it a shot.
The fob receiver which should always be powered in order for the fob to work does not have power when it fails to work, as to why it all works latter on is a mystery to me, I still believe you have a bad power connection somewhere.
