Trouble programming key fob HELP !
I got my 2002 c5 Z06 about a month and a half ago. It did NOT come with a key fob. I ordered one off eBay , a used OEM key fob from a 2003 c5 z06. I went through all the steps but when I got to the hold both lock and unlock buttons... nothing happened. I tried multiple times holding them at the same time for 40+ seconds and nothing happens. I thought it was a faulty fob maybe so I ordered one off eBay that wasn’t oem but was for the car and had good reviews. Same thing... doesn’t program, any ideas guys?

Do you mean go through all the steps on the DIC and when the hold lock+unlock message shows up, stand In front of my car and do it? Cuz if You are saying to just skip all that and stand in front of my car and hold the buttons, that’s not gonna work cuz then any random person with a c5 fob could program their remote to my car and get inside lolll

How do you know that the FOB that you have even works?? Take it to Autozone. Most of them have a tester that will tell you if its transmitting a signal/s when you press the buttons.
2001 - 2004 FOBS are the newer generation FOBs and operate at a different frequency than the early 97-2000 fobs.
What are the model/part numbers on the back of the FOB

I filled my tank today, drove home and into the driveway. Tried to lock and car and now my fob took a crap on me! Just changed battery, nothing. I tried holding the lock and unlock buttons down together standing next to the car and that didn’t work either. Any ideas?

After my H/C/I/L, and tuned, the FOB Training was gone in the DIC. I tried everything but no luck. Then I stood in front of the car and held both buttons down and it programmed.

Overnighted 2 fobs from amazon, went into self programming screen on dash and easily programmed both fobs. Worked without a single glitch. Especially since I couldn’t even order OEM fobs for a 2001. Cost me $25.00.
