Default Ls1 fuel starvation

I am putting this in c5 tech because i have a 2000 corvette LS1 transplant in my c1. It is a stock motor. It ran great for a couple hundred miles, now on idle it will quit after a few minutes. It has a Rock Valley tank and in tank pump. It has a filter regulator gm part 10299146.
1. Pump primes system to 55-60 ills and holds.
2, motor starts fine and runs fine for a minute or two and then pressure begins to fluctuate until it drops and motors stalls.
3. Turning ignition off and waiting a minute, pump will prime again and start process again. And stall.

not sure what pressure is before filleter regulator.

any ideas, pump or regulator.

thanks

The pump stays on as it should, i plan to check voltage. I was told by the tank manufacturer that the gm10299146 filter reg sometimes fails if the pump puts out over 190ilbs. I’ll try checking that also. I haven’t found anyone with the same problem.

Do a pump capacity test and see if the pump can supply a good volume of fuel. You can have good static pressure but fail a volume test due to a bad regulator, fuel line obstruction ect!

Ok ill check connections at pump, i am assuming at this point the voltage and grounds are good, because the car primes and starts perfect. Then it stumbles , loses pressure and dies. Wait a minute and it will prime and start again. It also sounds like the pump is running thru this process until i key it off.

thanks for listening.

thanks

I don't have the service manual with me but I would take the Schrader valve out of the end of the drivers side fuel rail and attach a hose and see how much flow that you get in a one minute period. Then try for a three minute period.

ok will as soon as i can. I plan on checking pump pressure before regulator/filter also.

Thanks

There is a figure ( 10 oz. in 10 seconds) in fuel system diagnosis for blockage at the fuel tank...you can possibly use this number at the fuel rail !!

Is the tank completely sealed? You're not trying to pump fuel against a vacuum in the tank are you?

1. Finally did the flow test, the pump puts out 2 liters a minute.
2. There is about 12. 8 volts to the pump, about 10.6 while the pump is running. As the fuel pressure drops the voltage goes up to 12 plus.
3. I changed the fuel filter regulator and it still has 56 plus ills at the rail, until the pressure drops.
4 I am beginning to think the pump is the issue, but not sure.
