Pretty good video, pretty cool. It would be great too if you could do a follow up video on full functionality and review, pros and cons...etc. Do you know if the cranking delay can be reduced (from the time that you push to the time that it actually starts cranking?)
I'm not sure what you're asking about the crank delay. There are 2 ways to start with the button. One way is to step on the brake and just press the button once and it will start. The other way is to hold down the button for 3 seconds without stepping on the brake. In the video it was the latter. I did not have the brake wire hooked up when I shot the video. I should do a review video as you suggested. Thanks for that.
You basically answered my question. I thought the 3 second delay was adjustable but it's just the requirement to hold it down for three seconds. It would be good to see it start with the 2nd method. It's a pretty neat upgrade.
the door lock/unlock wires are inside the drivers door panel. its the first 2 wires (one on top of the other) on the middle harness of the door bcm. they are both a negative single pulse. alternatively you can use the arm/disarm wires. they will do the same thing. you change the settings on the control unit accordingly. the hatch unlock wire is a black wire at the factory hatch button. tap into that with the kit's trunk release wire. that one is a positive single pulse. the kit comes with decent instructions.
The remote must be within range to be able to start the car. The same transmitter in the remote is what unlocks the lock when you walk up to the car. And of course locks when you walk away. It works similar if not the same as the modern factory passive entry remotes. Although I'm not saying the security is on par. I really don't know. Its a $50-120 kit. No question security is degraded by disabling the factory vats and column lock.

thanks for the reply.
This is something to consider and definitely a cool mod for your car. Thanks again for sharing
Do you know if the power loads are controlled with contact relays or solid state relays? I tried to e-mail Easyguard to ask them but the verification code didn't work and the phone number appears to be in China.
I don't know. If I had to guess I'd say contact relays. You can hear whatever's inside the control unit clicking. You know the noise that contact relays make.

I happened to watch it last night before even seeing this post. Did you actually run those antennas somewhere or could you just shove them under the dash with adequate results? I really do not need to be 20 ft away from car in order to use the fobs.
The high frequency antenna I just reached up and stuck it under inside the dash above the radio. That works from inside the house to to street. A good 40 feet away. The low frequency antenna are directional and have a shorter range. I put one around the the footwell area above the kick panel. The other one is behind the cab in the hatch area. You can always lay them out before making the final placement.
