anybody have a tech II they would like to rent to disable my tpms in my car? willing to pay shipping and use of unit. will insure it. pm me if you can. ed.
its about 3 hours and 24 mins Ocala Fla to Ft. Myers. let me see what i can do here in Ocala before I think about going further. I cant drive past 55 mph without sensors working. thanks for your offer. ed.
Now why would you want to disable it ??...it IS a safety feature and I would like to know if I develop a leak in my tire going down the road...do you have some bad sensors ??...I doubt a dealer would touch it due to those safety concerns but perhaps you can just take it to a shop...it doesn’t have to be a Tech 2...I can do the same thing with my Autel or Snap On Verus Pro...as long as it has bi directional capabilities !!
first of all, I dont want to fuss with the sensors since I never use them on my Corvettes. Remember, the c5 Z06 did not have the tpms activated and not one of them had tire pressure sensors. SAfety,,??? for those who use them not me. I hardly ever drive my Corvettes and if I am taking one out I always check my tire pressures. I think Chevrolet should have made this option one that an owner can turn on or off. I use the sensors on my Cadillac since I daily drive it but for my Corvette I think they are a nuisance. I would love to disable mine. I am trying to find a tool that could turn it off at a reasonable price. there are some on ebay but what I dont want to do is spend the money and the sensor not work correctly. that is my predicament.
This is a viable and effective option. The Tech II software is installed on your laptop and connected to the car with the VCX Nano. It has worked very well for a lot of us here.

I'll second this. I bought one of these when I was pinched needing to do an ABS bleed on a 2008 Buick Lucerne CXs (Northstar V8) that I rebuilt. Works like an absolute champ and contrary to what the dvertisent says, it WILL install and run on 64 bit Windows 10. That's what I used it on with my laptop. There is a specific installation order you have to follow that is located here:. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1598966499
i will try this. i ordered the autel ts601 that does obd ii scanning and also programs all tpms sensors on most cars. i think i will also get this device in case the autel cannot turn off tpms in my car. thanks.
