If they don't know, who cares what they think?
I really like they way mine runs. It's relatively streetable, as long as it's not raining or snowing, but that's more due to the Mickey Thompson ET Street tires. My tuner said tuning my car to meet emissions, even with new El-Cheapo cats will be easy. Also, since my car is a '99, I would be exempt from the new CA law.

Truth.
I had an insane NA head/cam car for a while with full exhaust and cut outs. And it was fun as hell to drive....
.... For about 45 minutes at a clip.
Then you were happy, even eager, to get out of the damn car. You had a headache, had been vibrated so much it felt like you had been beat up, and you were cooked and overheated from the exhaust. And this is from someone who loves badass cams. Lol. I still loved it and drove it a ton. It was amazing. But I'd be lying if I didn't share the owner experience of such. The part you never tell your friends, and only admit a decade later to people online who you'll never meet in real life.
