I have recently gotten a 2001 corvette, and when I received it read “Service Tire Monitoring System.” I’ve nearly had it for a month now and it’s all that is displayed. I’ve tried pulling codes but none of the side buttons work while the error message is on. A neighbor helped me out with an OBD2 and was able to clear the error code for a few days, but it eventually came back. The buttons worked after the message was cleared. I tried looking through the forums and with other people having the TPMS problem but I am unable to reset the error to clear the screen. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks
If you are near a Discount or Americas tire location, feel free to stop in, our guys would be happy to scan the sensors at no charge to confirm if they are properly broadcasting their signal.
Feel free to reach out via pm if we can be of further assistance.

no offense to you guys, but you guys have no clue with these old tpms sensors. They use a magnet to program which none of your shops have, use or your kids are trained on.
i can give you the name of the store, tire tech, and manager who were totally clueless with a c5 tpms.

i wasted about 4 hours dealing with you guys and you’re clueless.
to be fair, i've had at least three-four different Discount Tire shops across the country with multiple visits to each where the guys did just fine with the sensors in my C5 & Hummer H3 (both of which have weird programming quirks that their normal plug-in module can't do). i often remind them of the requirements (or just go out & show them), and we're done in a couple minutes.
never had a problem with my new dodge truck either... but those sensors auto-learn their own positions (making 5tire rotations a snap), so i won't really count that one.

We are truly sorry to hear our store was unable to help and that you had spent that much time working with the guys trying to get it working. PM on the way.
As a side note, The Bartec programming tools that our stores carry comes with that magnet and most of our stores have a backup or second magnet from another tool kit. I certainly apologize if the technician was unfamiliar with the procedure, as you mentioned for the 01-04 C5 it is required to program the system. We have sent a notification over to our maintenance team to follow up with stores to ensure they do have that magnet and are not only familiar with how to use it but also where it is located in the store.
