Done PCV MOD....Couple Concerns + Pics
Finished the PCV Mod didnt take long...had a little difficulty deciding which hose it was but nevrenuf helped me out  .
Here are pics of the install.
Had to show a pic of the dog :D
Materials used
High Temp Silicone used on bottom of filter
Had to cut a bigger piece of hose so it would fit better. Home depot only had this red high pressure hose...I got a black one from another store but was too big.
Red hose into the intake
Finished product :hurray: :hurray:
Close up of the filter...arrow on filter facing toward the intake manifold.
K...havent turned on the car or anything because Im still doing a couple more mods so wont be firing her up for a week or so.
My concerns...what if that filter housing hits the belt? Is there something I could have done to install it better...I couldnt curve the original hose enough to the left because of the actual wire that was clamped onto a metal piece on the hose.
Either way...easy mod...hope everything was fine...please let me know...and definitely need to thank benelliwang for his website instructions
Thanks

Sorry I can't help you ... but I think that you could tie down the lines to prevent the filter from moving if possible ..

I'd put the filter closer to the intake end of the hose and use ty-wraps and maybe shorten the hose.
You want the drain pointing down , not at an angle.

I installed mine very similiar to yours except I have the filter about 6-8 inches
from where yours is ( basically right by the radiator ) ...just was thinking
you want this to hang down vertical and at the farthest point away from
engine heat & belts...oh yeh...use a few more cable ties but make it accessible to empty the oil out..

I installed it about 2000 miles ago. So far I've had about 1/8" of oil and that was right after an oil change. Since then, none. I've read the later years have fixed the problem. It was cheap, easy and fun. Probably the main reasoning for doing it. But, any amount of oil through the intake is too much for me. :leaving:

It looks like you used an excessive amount of hose. Here's a few pics that I took of my install. I moved a few things around, but you should get the idea of the orientation from my pics. I'm sure the mod will work regardless of the amount of hose used, but I'd think it would be best to use as little hose as possible so that you don't run into heat issues with the added hose laying around or that it doesn't get caught up in anything. YMMV, but this worked for me:

Anybody have a shopping list for these parts? What's the diameter of the hoses being used? Do you leave the drainage capability intact to remove any oil caught by the filter?
Looks like a get mod!! :lurk:

Moderators, anyway we can put this in link in the tip/DIY/links sections? We seem to get this request everyday...
USMUSCL, you hose is too long, cut them short and it won't be too close to the moving parts. Notice my setup is way back and away from all the moving parts?

Great write-up!! Two mo' Q's for U.....
1. What's the diameter of the oil hose?
2. Wy not leave the drainage fuctional, wouldn't this help to get rid of the oil collected?
Thx!
