It's most likely your shift cable that connects the gear shift to the transmission. It either broke or one of the ends came off.

heres what you need to do to get it out, or replace the bushing or the shift cable . i never did figure out how to disconnect the inter lock connection. check to see if its disconnected at the trans end before you pull out the center console
you can also disconnect the middle section of the exhaust, remove belly pan of torque tube and replace the cable or the bushings from the bottom
