Throttle Position Sensor - Strange

IMHO, The Idle issue is NOT caused by the TPS.
I would be more inclined to look for a vacuum leak.
2004 LS1 has a large rubber fitting for the PCV valve that is prone to dry rotting/cracking. Its on the passengers side of the intake manifold just rearward of the Throttle Body. Look at that rubber fitting and inspect it for CRACKS/TEARS/LEAKS.
There are SEVERAL IDLE related things that need to be checked. Any non metered air that enters the engine will have a negative impact on idle quality.
Things that I would do:
1. Remove the complete AIR BRIDGE and AIR FILTER ASSY Check the air filter, clean the MAF with MAF Cleaner
2. Clean the Throttle Body and Throttle Blade.
3. Reinstall the AIR BRIDGE and AIR FILTER ASSY insuring that there are ZERO air leaks between the MAF and TB.
Give that a try and see if it runs better.
