Re: Wheel Hop (Clean Freak)
Freak
How many would you like to hear? You should get a lot of feed back on this one. Everything from run-flat tires as opposed to non run-flat tires. Z51 suspension as opposed to regular suspension. Sway bars help....they don't help. Cold surface as opposed to a warm surface Too much air pressure....too little air pressure. You don't know how to come out of the hole. What seems to be pretty consistent is that they run better at the track. Why? I don't know, could be the slick type tire, the surface they are running on. Or, maybe it's because they like it there.

Hey Clean Freak welcome to the Forum! My Z06 does it more in sub 50F weather- hooks up a lot better above 80F. My understanding via the forum is that it (wheel hop) can be reduced by switching to less resilient/stiffer rear suspension bushings.Hope this helps some. Welcome!!   :steering: :steering:
NoMohonda- take those Stingers out of the box and put them on.You'll love the sound!! Just about any muffler shop will do it if you dont have access to a lift ($75 here in Cincinnati) :yesnod: :yesnod:
Now if you're talking about bump-steer, the real culprit is the super-stiff runflat tires. Put on some BFG KDs and I'll bet most of the bump-steer is gone.
What What What? Wheel hop!! I never have wheel hop! Oh, I forgot I'm still stock with runcraps! :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry
Mine hop all the time. Drives me nutz! Scared I am gonna bend my rods. Did while stock and after stingers (they do sound great by the way). I have firestone runflats.
Experienced SEVERE wheel hop (shifting to 2nd) at Gainesville dragstrip. Ambient air temp was about 47 degrees. I have raced before but never had this happen. I thought the rearend was coming through the floor! Lowered the tire pressure 5 pounds and th helped a LITTLE bit. I cannot wait until I get a 450 HP C6............... :yesnod:
