New TDR relay installed, so far so good.
Thanks again mmartinez.

Correct, you still get the error on the dash even with VATS turned off using HP tuners. HP Tuners VATS off setting simply has the ECU ignore the security warning and never shuts the fuel supply off at 2mph or so. If you don't want the error message too, you have to defeat the error via the resistor mod or LMC5 install - OR replace the actual defective component(s).

mmartinez said ....Never heard about a VATS bypass module? Most people simply soulder some resistors at the BCM connector after cutting the two wires from the Ignition switch. Simply measure your car keys resistor pellet and purchase two resistors to match the resistance value of the key pellet.

Genius. I read these posts to learn and hopefully remember if I have a problem.

Why two resistors?

Not sure about two resistors .. that was a quote. I just like the idea of putting a resistor on the ign switch and not having to worry about matching key blanks. Maybe standard resistor values require two to get it in the finite range needed.

I said two resistors because resistors are sold by certain resistance values and I don't know if you can buy just one resistor that is the correct value and you have to series two resistors to arrive at the correct value. Oh and I saw a pic of the mod on the BCM connector and it was two resistors.

It took 2 of them to get the correct total resistance when I did it.
