I don't understand it; I'm driving yesterday and i get a message on the DIC saying,"Active Handling needs Service" or something like that. I tried to reset on the DIC, but didn't work!. Now everytime I start the car, the message appears and the yellow light stays on! :mad Does anyone have any input on this issue-problem? :cry I need help!!
I just had the same problem after breaking the rear loose when the active handling/tract control was off. It wouldnt reset but I shut the car off then back on and it went back to normal. This is about the third time this has happened in 3 weeks since I bought the car, Any explanations????
Something (some sensor) is telling the PCM & BCM that it is in a condition that needs AH. What year car is it and how many miles are on the car? What mods have you installed?
Please provide that info and we can look in the repair manuals and give you somewhere to start looking.
I'm guessing that a wheel speed sensor is not working properly. Sometimes they get alot of iron particles on the sensor and that makes them go haywire.
See if you have any codes set in the DIC and provide them also.

Thanks for the reply, the car is a 2001 Z06. With no tire pressure sensors. I will have to get back to you with the codes as the car is not with me right now. The car has 21k on the odometer and is totally stock
Thanks,Rusty
Not tire the pressure sensors! Wheel SPEED sensors. There is one speed sensor for EACH wheel. The computer uses it to tell the anti lock system the status of each wheel to control the brake cylinder on that wheel if it looses grip. The TC does the same thing for the rear wheels if you break traction. It allows the break system to apply brakes to the rear wheels. There is a toothed reluctor on each brake rotor and a sensor inbeded in the wheel bearing. It is removeable if it is bad. Your DIC will tell you if it is not working and will set a code telling you that the sensor is bad. It could just be covered with dirt/dust.
Give the codes a check and see what you come up with.
