As of late my has been recently showing me the check engine light but this is not the true problem.
Whether the car is in gear or out of gear the cars rpms drop from 800-900 rps to about 300 rmps as I am comming to a stop. SWometimes the car maintains that low of an idle till I "pop" the gas to bump the idle back up to the 800ish range. This does not happen at every stop or slow down, but is starting to get real annoying. This same thing happend to my old Mustang. Any help would be great.
I do not have the ability to see if any DTC's are coming up and my car is mostly stock. I did install an aftermarket Mass Air Sensor. I am obviously trying to avoid taking my car in order to have a diagnostic test done on it to see what codes are coming up. However, I may have no choice.
Try the relearn procedure....check the tech section....definitely to do with the new MAF....Computer has to relearn the idle characteristics for the increase air from the MAF...mine still does ot from time to time but infrequently after I did the relearn.

Why can't you get the DTC's off the DIC? What am I missing here??
:iagree: I'm with Steve! Retreiving the codea on yoir C% is a SNAP andd it is FREE!!! It should take you all of 2 minutes and you do not even need to leave the drivers seat!
Look in the TECH section fro the procedure and the codes.
With the key in the on position but not started, hold down options and press fuel 4 times. It will then cycle through all your codes or you can go into manual mode but I forgot which button does what.
