Default Installing Z06 screens?

I was test fitting some of the pieces of the Z06 screen set kit (Brake ducts, sige vent, rear vents) today and noticed that some of the pieces just kinda sit in place (the side vents for instance). Does anyone have any installation tips to help me make sure this project comes out as good as possible? Any help is appreciated.

The kit I got had 2 sided tape to hold the side and rear screens in. The front brake screens had no tape but the stay in place just fine.

My kit is the same way, but the tape doesn't stick too well. I installed one of the side screens and it just wouldn't stick....& yes I did clean the area with alcohol first.....Am I missing something here?

You might need to get some new tape and try again. Also look at the tape that won't stick... is it dirty or is the tape just not sticky [anymore]?

I just used the 2 sided tape supplied with the screens and mine stick fine.

Good luck. :)

3M double sided tape (red) is good. Clean the area well; even consider sanding it a little if it is in a place that will never be seen. :)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm going to look into the 3M tape and see if that helps. This kit is brand new, but maybe the adhesive just needs to be stronger.......I'll keep you all posted! :yesnod:

Alright, just got done installing the screens. The install went relatively smooth, and the 3M tape did the trick. I am much morre confident with the mount now thatn I was with the adhesive strips that came with the kit. Thanks for the advice guys....Pics coming soon!

Another option I've heard used for the Z06 screens are small pieces of velcro to allow you to more easily remove the screens (cleaning and etc.) and place them back in position without having to add more two-sided tape.

I used velcro on my front screens. Before I put the screens in I cut the plastic out from the fog lights to the inside edge. My engine now runs 10 degrees cooler. :)

I also have the brake duct screens but have not installed them as of yet.

Go with the velcro, easier for taking them in and out, and not having to replace tape everytime!

I did all of mine today and used velcro for the Zo6 and the x2 tape that came w/ the other 6 screens... Here's a good link in case you want to review your install. Also some ppeps have use a small amount of epoxi on all except the fog light screens. (for removal to serv lights or cleaning)
