Replacement rear tires
Tell your dad WASTE OF MONEY.
And from expierence the guys who have to put them on will like you alot better cause they suck to put on what a B!tch with that sidewall.
Hope I was of help.

Get them from Sears. They'll price match plus 10% (well, at least they did for me) TireRack.com's price (incl. the shipping). They also did the install, but the Sears in my area has a good rep in our club for doing installs on C5 rims.
Or get them through http://www.tirerack.com . Or get them through any local dealer that you trust. If you ask, they may price match Tire Rack just to get the sale.
Alternative tire choice: Eagle F1 GSD3s through Sears, Tire Rack, http://www.onlinetires.com or a local dealer of your choice who'll price match. :seeya

They're cheaper than the Goodyear's too.
Where I go to Wheel Works, they match the Tire Rack prices. They've done a good job in not damaging the pressure monitors.
I'm not quite sure at this point, but will probably stay with runflats since I've had two flats in 4 years and it's really been convenient. But it's always tempting to try cheaper non-runflats with better traction, etc.
By the way, I put the Firestones on the rear when I still had the Goodyears on the front and I didn't notice any changes or problems at all with the two different brands.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
IMO, having an American legend as your car and NOT having an American tire name in big letters all over your tires just plain looks funny, if you know what I mean. A Supra probably looks okay with Korean tires, but the Corvette????..... not in my book!

Also where are the tests that show the Kumhos are a notch below the S03S and D3s

I guess the Australian brakes, Mexican transmissions, German sway bars, Brazilian rotors, and on and on are O.K. though?

are you sure that using "Consumer Reports" as a good information source is a wise decision?????
As a matter of fact, they have reported the C5 as a "top performer", even though reliability couldn't compare to the Honda S2000, but hey, who can argue with that?

Also as others have stated I wouldn't trust Consumers Report testing anything but vacuum cleaners and toilet paper. But again, they did not test the Kumho MX.

Now if you don't believe CU, check into their test methologies. You may very well be surprised at how thorough they are.
