Has anyone tried replacing their hardware with titanium fasteners? I'm planning on starting it very soon. My only concern is that the ti fasteners may not stretch enough to create the torque needed to properly seat itself, but I figure a shot of locktite should fix that problem. Ti fasteners will be lighter, and will never corrode...unlike some of the bolts in my '98! It'll also give me a new way to tinker with my car. If any of y'all know the specs for any of the fasteners, please post up. I'm sure I'll buy many bolts and nuts that don't fit my car, and I'd like to minimize the amount of wrong guesses I make.
The areas I'd like to target first are:
lugnuts
exhaust bolts
targa bolts
hood bolts
fender screws
wheel bearing bolts
A-arm suspension thru-bolts
seat bolts
IMO not worth the cost/benefit. Also no test data available. Would not want to see parts fallling off the car when driving when bolt torque/stretch was not correct.
