Kooks headers are available to use with stock cats and stock intermediate pipe. :D

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
We had a set.
We just dynoed a 04 C5 the other day with kooks headers on it and it only made 13 rwhp over the before number. But I wasn't even going to post it, because it would look as though we made it up. But we didn't even do the install, we just did the dyno. And that was after tuning. There are so many low numbers out there for kooks headers with cats that most don't even post them.
It seems that I always have to come into threads to counter propaganda that makes false statements about our LG Headers. And the false claims usually come from the NE (usually NJ). funny how that happens.
One line propaganda mis-information is the norm in most forums.
The fastest cars all seem to have LG PRO Long Tube headers.
Not everyone can run in 36 degree weather and claim it is the package that is going fast rather than the weather.
J-rod won the shootout, and the top 4 Corvette World Challenge cars at Sebring World Challenge had LG Pro Long Tube headers.
Propaganda by the NJ guys is the only claim that the other headers have.
And even with their big diameter headers, the torque is way down. That was even admitted by the manufacturer of the kooks headers. He ( Nick) stated that they don't care about low end torque. Well we do at LGM.
The internet is a place where "anicdotal" evidence is in abundance. One person can say that "Blue is not a color, it is really Black" and 25% of the internet population will repeat is as though it is FACT.
The power under the curve on any back to back comparison between the LG Headers and kooks will always be bigger with the LG headers. A 1 7/8 kooks might make a couple more hp at 6500+ rpms with no cats, but the low end will look very low, maybe even look stock at the low end.
Then if anyone does a back to back test using the CATS in the system the difference will be much greater. Our 3" Random, Metal Matrix cats out flow any on the market, and lose very little hp compared to a ceramic cat like the ones on the kooks.
If you are going to run cats, then the ceramic cats, like on the kooks, will rob way too much hp.
The choice is clear. LG headers give a very broad range of hp and a large increase in peak hp and torque, especially low end torque. The others do make gains, but not as broad.
It is too bad that truth cannot be the main factor in these threads rather than partisan subjective debates based upon what one person already purchased. I will loan a set of our LG Pro Long tubes, with cats for the purpose of a back to back comparison by an independent installer/dyno. I will have to approve the facility and the car, but I am willing to endorse a test.
Most that have already made a purchase of one brand or another, even when they discover that they made a mistake, will look for validation of their choice. They do it by trying to make their choice look like the best choice.
LG Pro Long Tubes come standard with the full 3" system from collector to the mufflers. A 3" system is either NOT available with other brands, or it is sold at an extra charge. Plus the LG system has the option, at no extra charge, which includes the ability to change from off road to cat using the included off road pipe.
Again, let me say again, I will loan a set of LG PRo Long Tube headers with cats, out to an independent shop that will do a back to back test against the kooks or dynatech headers. I want to have final approval of the shop and of the car that is being tested. Let me know.
end of story.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM
OK, someone with a shop take on the challenge and lets see the comparo data.
Looks like LGM just drew a line in the sand:hurray:, this is going to get interesting :smiliedrool:

IMO didn't see a reason for you to 'come into this thread' to counter any propaganda and when you did I just felt the couple of comments you made were uncalled for and in poor spirit because it attacks KOOKS directly and I don't think KOOKS has ever bashed you guys in this manner. Maybe the whole post was uncalled for because you basically hijacked the thread and made it an LG sales pitch instead of a KOOKS discussion.
For the most part there were people giving their OPINION. The first reply was even a post FOR LGs! I don't think the main reason for praise was because they 'made a mistake' in their choice and are trying to validate anything.
Can you back up the statement that there "are so many low numbers out there for kooks headers with cats that most don't even post them?"
Are your headers that perfect that you have not had any posts by LG OWNERS posted in these forums with negative feedback?
Their may be posts here that are bias towards KOOKS for whatever reason.... and yes, and some obvious to probably get a rise out of you. but do you have to bite everytime? This really puts a damper on a lot of threads and you guys have to cut it out.
I don't recall KOOKS ever had anything negative to say about your headers and jumped in an LG thread to give their two cents. I don't think they've dissected and criticized every inch of your headers like you have theirs or the dynatechs. I don't think KOOKS has ever said they had the BEST header on the market like you have... I think they more or less have said that they have made a header that they are proud of and there have been a lot of posts from owners that seem to agree and have said that KOOKS makes a header that they feel is as good or better than anything else right now. i don't see anything wrong with people voicing their opinions.
So I think you owe KOOKS an apology.
I don't think people are really sick of headers threads... I think people are sick of the bickering between the same group of people who know who they are. And I think you guys have to cut it out.
Disclaimer... I'm personally looking forward to my KOOKS that I ordered and I hope they do well.
