Well, it looks like my stock battery is gone after 20 months. Fortunately it died at 21st Century Musclecars, and the guys stopped what they were doing until they could diagnose, then gave me a jump to get me home. One the way home I noticed that my temp gauge, both analog and on the DIC were dead. Furthermore, when I parked and tried to pop the trunk, the switch is dead.
Question: Is there a common fuse for both that we may have blown while trying to start my car (several times) on the charger and then via a jump of another vehicle? Good news is I am home...But this sucks!!! :mad
before you spend any time looking through all your fuses, simply disconnect your battery for a few minutes then reconnect. This should restore your problem to normal. If not, you may need to clear all historical codes through your DIC control panel buttons.
Will Do! FYI...don't know if it just because it has been on the Battery Tender Plus for a few minutes, but the trunk lid will pop now. As for the gauge problem, I'll try the disconnect and see what happens.
Took my OEM battery to Auto Zone this morning for a test after a full night on the Battery Tender Plus. Battery showed a full charge, but only able to output 6 amps! Message on the testing device was "Remove From Service".
I guess these batteries really do die a sudden death. I've never experienced something quite like that with any previous battery. Put an Optima Red Top in today, and everything is back to normal after pulling and replacing the #16 and #23 fuses, then doing a 5 minute idle relearn. I should now in a few days whether it was truly just the battery, or if I have other electrical issues.
