During my Kooks installed I noticed that one of my spark plugs was similar but yet very different than the rest. All them are were similar to #9 shown here http://www.dansmc.com/Spark_Plugs/Sp...s_catalog.html
but one of them had a huge growth of the brownish buildup on one side of the "L" shaped electrode (not sure of the official name). Anyone seen something like this before? Other than the "cancerous" buildup the color and surface texture etc were the same.
I gave this a lot of thought and the only thing that I could think of is maybe something got in that cylinder at one time, lodged on the electrode and turned into the BLOB of crap! Stick new plugs back in and monitor that cylinder at every oil change!

That would be cylinder number 6. Since the buildup is only on one side of the side electrode, it is most likely that was the side facing the intake valve when the plug was installed. As stated, it may have been something that passed through that particular cylinder at one time or another. If everything else about the plug looks good, i.e. gap, color, not wet or sooty, etc, you can probably just clean off the offending "growth" and re-install the plug. It wouldn't hurt to check it again after a few hundred miles or so. HTH
