Default Need Help Guys.......

Hello Fellas,

I just experienced some electrical gremlins as of late......

My turn signals have stopped working at times.....out of the blue.....it will be fine for days, then all the sudden they stop working???? I first had a problem last weekend when i had my top down and it started raining.....I pulled over under a bridge on the freeway and hit my hazard lights....they wouldn't stay on....i had to hold the button in for the hazards to flash?????

The problem comes and goes..... It is a little frustrating, to say the least. This week they went out on me and I hit the hazard lights and that was enough to get the turn signals to work again???

Does anyone have any idea what would cause this??? I am taking it in to the dealer this afternoon....it is still under warranty for another couple months.

Thanks for any help guys!!!

Evrything you mention goes through the flasher. I would check that first since it is also a relatively cheap part. GM has actually had several TSB's on flashers including my Pontiac. Hard to believe since they have been making this part for years.

Sounds like a "short" to me in the column somewhere. I know that doesn't help really.....but what else could it be if it is intermittent? I think the column needs to come off and check the wiring.

FWIW.....I had intermittent loss of all controls in my driver door (windows, locks, etc).....it ended up being the wiring harness that goes from the door and into the car was being stretched too much when the door was fully open and it was pulling the harness where the connection were in the door (when the door is open you can see the accordion black pice...that is the harness).

The flasher switch is another common C5 problem! It is the heart of the blinker/flacher and light circuit and it is difficult to replace. Alot of the dash has to be disassembled!!
Make sure that they put your interion back the way it came apart!!
