Default Cant decide which header System

Which header System is the best for me.
Got a B&B Route 66, a Thunderracing 224./224. 561./561. 114 LSA Cam
and a Vararam.

Dont know if I should take the FLP, Dynatech or LG System.

What do you think which system would give me the most power?

You just missed out on a GP from APE that ended on Wednesday. They had LG headers for around 1300 if they had 6 buyers. I think they hit their mark. I wished I could have went in on that GP. Oh well, maybe some other day. Good luck with the search. I know when I change mine, I will be going with LG.

Longtubes are the only way to go, try to stay with a ceramic coating or stainless steel and if you have the stock cubic inch get the 1 3/4" diameter. After that get the brand you like, mine are1 3/4" bassani long tubes which have a ceramic coating and the fit was excellent. Gary

Default Stainless Works

I have Stainless works front to back and they are great IMHO
My second choice would be LG front to back but a cat back would be needed. My cat back is 3 in also.
The b&b Route 66 would be great but 2 1/2 in pipe .
Would bolt up fine to either.

I wouls suggest long tubes and coated headers. The coating does not discolor like stainless and provides an effective way to reduce the heat exposure from the headers. I have the coated headers from FLP and the plugwires show no signs of any heat damage after over a 1000 miles of exposure. JMHO.

Default I just installed the Dynatechs..

I think the quality of the system was pretty good. Only complaint I have at all is with the O2 sensor placement. The way they do it makes routing the wires a little more difficult. My installer put a few extra zip ties at strategic places to make sure they don't melt.
LGs have all the talk but they also have the price. I got my complete setup for $1300 shipped. My '01 picked up ~20HP and ~20ft/lbs peak and a nice area under the curve (339HP/355TQ). (I don't have my scanner hooked up or I would post my dyno graph) I think the system has even more in it but I have a stock thermostat (get a 160!!) and it was Hot/Humid on install day. (Intake air was registering 91!) The car just kept getting HOT on the dyno (225-230 water temps) and we had to take out some advance to keep knock away. Even with that it still put down those numbers.
Could I get more with LGs... maybe but I'm not really in the mode of chasing 5 HP for a lot more $$$. If you are then go for it. If not... then the Dynatechs are a real nice system.

Default DynaTech here

I installed them about 2 weeks ago. The fit was great and they have good instructions with them. I also got them shipped to my door for $1300, I'm pleased. Later this year i plan to get a head/cam package then do a dyno tune.

FLP just installed my headers - definitely increased the sound level and performance - see my sig. for listing of mods., which include the B&B Rte 66's. I also had them install a 160 therm. - nice - now coolant temps stay around 180 -183 (with 80 outside temp). I went with FLP in part because I wanted coated headers and in part because of their great service. My vette has only 3,000 miles, so dyno #'s may improve. as the engine loosens up.

You might want to check out the QTP headers that just came out on the market. They are 304 stainless and Tri-y design. Give Barry a call and ask him about the introductory pricing.

I've been keeping track of this header issue. I've heard of missing dipstick brackets on FLP's, broken airtubes on LGM's...and install and ground clearance issues on others. It seems the least complaints I've heard about are with the Stainless Works headers and they are at a good price and Random Tech makes high flow cats that fit the SW's headers.

I would like to hear from more owners of the Stainless works hedders about install and fit. I hear about low hanging sets and I don't want that. Do they tuck up like the stock pipes ? Thanks

I am glad to hear some votes for KOOKs since these were just recommended to me by Andy at A&A. Says they come with highflow cats and will bolt right up to the Z06 Ti exhaust I just had him install.
Also there is no O2 sensor issues.

Do these come with the ceramic coating to keep cooler??

No, you can get it done if you want "Jet Hot cat, etc" , other than for looks IMO the heat issue is over not worth the money.

Check out the QTP system. Very easy installation, good numbers but not a lot of systems out there yet. No codes, no SIMS required. Stainless too.
