ok, i just recently bought a 2000 vert with selective ride control. i drove it home 700 miles on tour selection mode and it had a very smooth ride, fantastic, i have had the car a week and put an additional 300 miles on it . last night im driving home and car feels completely different in the suspension, hard as a rock, feel every bump, but is was always on tour mode. also 3 days ago, the check tire pressure system came on and stayed on until i hit the reset button, tire pressure reads 36 psi and 35 psi front 37 psi left rear and no reading for right rear. i have a gm warranty that is supposed to be transferred to me by old owner. i don't know what is wrong with the suspension, but i am already freaking out.any help greatly appreciated. thanks lenny
If I am not mistaken, the selective ride control defaults to the Sport setting when there is a problem with the system. The tire pressure issue is probably a sepreate matter. When your tires heat up to above a certain pressure, it trips the sensors. Good Luck
the book indicates that it defaults to the tour mode, which makes no sense, either does the fact there is no message that states the system is malfunctioning, but i drove the car 11 hrs and i know in tour mode now and then it is completely different ride, anyway gm warranty makes the old owner write a letter and send in 50 dollar transfer fee, they seem to not do anything on the phone, which in this day and age is ridiculous. i guess its a company move to make it more difficult to transfer warranty. guess i have no choice but to wait for warranty to get transfered and then its off to a dealer. thanks lenny
well, if it defaulted to the tour mode, i would assume that i would have the sofest ride which i do not.i will check the over 80 comment, but i also just waiting for warranty to switch over, then can get checked.also need a good chevy dealer in long island ,ny to take in for service, if anyone happens to have good luck with any particular dealership or mechanic there. thanks lenny
it doesn't cut out at 80 mph , but i just learned that i have 40 psi cold in my stock run flats, maybe if i bring them down to 30-32 psi, maybe solve rough ride, i had oil changed and i think i remember them adding air . will check ride after i deflate tires. hope its that simple
If your selective ride system is faulting or has a problem, it should show up there.
You had way too much air in the tires, I run 28 (cold in the rears) and 30 Cold in the fronts. That will take some of the sting out of the ride!!
I had F45 suspension on my 98. I thought the concept sounded good and thought that I would feel a BIG difference between each mode BUT you wont! If I tune my A$$ meter up real good I can feel the difference between tour and preformance.
