Default Front Cover Alignment

The manual calls out two special tools for aligning the front cover after a cam installation. LS1howto.com just bolts it back in after the damper is in position but there is a warning in the manual about doing that. Has anyone looked into the tools required by the manual? I know that the how to published by Vette Doctors does use the special Kent-Moore tools. Does anyone know where to buy Kent-Moore tools online?

I just used the balancer to center mine and then tightened the cover.

Here is a link to thier webpage. Kent-Moore . Unfortunately you can't buy from them online. You need to call the number and order the part through an operator. The part you are referring to is around $85. I purchased the front cover seal installer for $40 and the balancer installer. I think the balancer installer was around $60. The balancer installer comes with a stud about 10" long that threads into the crankshaft and the front cover seal goes over it and you put a bolt and washer on it and crank it down and it presses the front crank seal in place. It fits the seal like a glove so you can leave it in place and tighten the front cover with that up against the cover. I also used it to install the crank sprocket and my new ASP pulley. But if you don't want to spend the money, the LS1Howto methed will work.
