While backing out of my parking space at work today, all of the sudden my car stalls. bam, done. I had to remove the key and crank it again. The error "Push Key; wait 10 seconds" or something of the sort displayed on the DIC. So I turned the car off, waited 15 or so seconds, started it. worked fine.
wtf?
I should mention that I got a "service vehicle soon" warning on the way to work, and I checked the codes on the DIC prior to when it stalled. Could that have caused it?
It sounds like it could be your steering column lock and security system (fuel cut-off). Were you able to turn your steering wheel when this occured? Do you have the Column Lock Bypass (CLB) kit? Otherwise, not sure what it could be. Good luck.

The resistor pellet that is embedded in your keys electrically connects to a set of contacts inside your ignition switch. If the connection is bad or the contact inside the switch or resistor on the key is dirty the security system see's the wrong resistance and you get the pull key message. If you ignor it you get fuel cutoff and BLAM,,, the car stalls!
Clean the contact on the resistor with alcohol and see if that helps.
