Default CAGS on '98 Vert?

Do '98 verts have CAGS? Before I put the CAGS defeat plug on my '02 coupe, a dash light would come on and there was some resistance felt in the shifter when trying to shift into 2nd gear from a stop. The '98 vert that we just got has the dash light, but there is no resistance in the shifter when going from first to second. What gives?

I think all manual transmission corvettes have had CAGS since at least the C4. It sounds like your '98 already has it installed.

Should I still be getting the dash light, though?

My recently acquired 98 did not have a lock out of 2-3 shift and the dash light would work intermediately.
I figured it had a cags bypass.
When I checked,it did not.
I'm guessing that it may have
1-faulty cags accuator,,
2-had cags de-programmed out thru a performance programer,
3-deprogramed by GM tech2??

Yes, the CAGS defeat doesn't affect the light illuminating.

Have a good one,

All C5's MN6 AND MN12 TRANNYS have CAGS, unless they have been removed by the owners!

Woops,,left out MN6 and MN12!

Not mine! I guarantee you that my C5 has never had one!

Us A4 owners don't have to fool with that mickey mouse stuff!
