I don't consider it a status symbol or a mod, but if you pay $50,000+ and you want to put an emblem on it, that is your business. As you can see from my avatar I have an emblem and I like it. I have had numerous C6 owners wanting to know where they could get them. Guess what? you can't, so that makes mine only one of a few that are out there.

You've individualized to your taste....that's what life is about !
Won't see yourself coming or going...Let others remain "bland" and try to figure out which LMB is theirs at a gathering of C6's....
Love them or hate them, "emblems" always stir up controversy !!!
Do what looks good to you. I have noticed that a lot of Chevy trucks and SUVs come with emblems, decals , etc marking it as a Z77 or such like, so the idea of badging is not completely aftermarket.

If it didn't come from GM, it's aftermarket. Chrome doo dads are out of style and IMHO look out of place on a car that's basically chromeless. 1958 was the peak for GM factory chrome use, Corvette included, and it's use has continuously declined ever since.

Maybe. But isn't GM offering a chrome wheel option on the C6 now?
And what of the chrome trimmed control ***** inside the car?

That's probably why GM sales are so poor....everybody is offering chrome from Lexus to Mercedes, even the Maserati Cambiocorsa offers a "vintage' package which is basically chrome trim. "Bling" is in whether one likes it or not !!!
A lot of NO's out there. But how many of the NO's have other purely cosmetic or vanity mods? Some have pics of red calipers on their avatar; others have cat backs, which we know adds sound but little if any performance. Why the double standard? If someone likes emblems, someone else likes calipers, and someone else likes loud exhausts, what's the difference?

I apologize if this in any way hijacks the thread, but in response to the above, Just because there are no longer chrome bumpers and side molding, chrome is not out of style. If it didn't have problems with supply from the now bankrupt wheel supplier, GM was going to offer chrome wheels. It even offers shiny new exhaust tips to go with its aftermarket performance exhaust. There is still a market for bling.
GM could make a lot of $$$ if it offered a lot more aftermarket parts, especially if they were available as options when ordering a car. In fact, GM, very belated, is now offering some of the same bling aftermarket parts, such as side vent screens and painted fuel rail covers, as are some of our supporting vendors.
I find this no more offensive than customized paint- people can do whatever they like to their cars, and emblems are no exception.
I wouldn't add any emblems to mine, but it doesn't bother me that others do.
Those little GM emblems, by the way, are called "chiclets" according to one of the more popular car magazines. I forget which one. They are supposed to remind you of GM's "Heritage of Leadership".
Somebody musta been deep into the Bourbon when they thought that one up...
