Dave Hill and his team did a fantastic job of designing a car that would hit most if not all our hot buttons. I picked up my 06 C6 Z51 MN6 on Friday and I have been elated about every aspect of this car. I simply love this car more than any I have owned and my C5 was something special. I am glad to hear that you still feel the same way 1-1/2 years later.
It's good to see a guy have passion for his car. Is this your first Vette?
No, second. I had a 99 Z51. I loved that car too, but no car has ever struck a (positive) nerve with me like the C6. Also, to you guys who commented, no, I didn't cry... just got watery eyed and it only made me want to go faster, not pull over!
It`s a great car, but tear me up I don`t think so.
Geez, some of you guys need to stop eating so many macho nachos and let some feeling shine through! How can you have passion without tears? Are you telling me that I'm being called on this forum for being too passionate about my car? That's a first!
Am I the only one who gets tears in his eyes when driving the C6? I can't explain to you in words how satisfying it is to drive a car where you can actually feel where your money went! When I drive the family SUV (Nissan Armada), I know I basically paid for "bulk". That thing is about as satisfying as a mustard sandwich. I guess if you are starving, it'll taste OK! Then there's my wife's 05 Mustang. It's a fun car and I kind of thought it fun to compare the Mustang to the C6 when we first bought the Stang, but I have to tell you after driving both for a while, I really realize what I paid $20k more for to get the C6. The Mustang really is pretty poor in every area when compared to the C6. I've been a C6 owner for a year and a half now and I swear every time I drive that car, I realize what a car can really be when you do everything right. It's not that I try to compare the C6 directly to a Mustang or (God forbid) an SUV, but the C6 makes most vehicles look like someone raided a parts bin, picked out some random crap, and then tried to see what would fit together. As far as I'm concerned, the C6 is the ultimate in form and function. It's not all about performance either. Every other car I've driven, I find myself saying, "Why couldn't they have thought this out. I wish this worked like it does in my Vette." And that goes for everything from the climate controls, to the touch-screen nav, to the keyless entry, and even the position of the seat belt latches.
Just thought I'd share.
Mike
I am with ya. I get that feeling every time I look at it. Do not have to drive it just have to see it and I just have to say
I just got to place my order for my first ever Vette after having wanted one since I was young. When the wife I take delivery at the NCM, I know it will be a special, emotional event for the both of us. Tears? Just won't know til it actually happens, but I bet a few grins are almost guaranteed.
Sorry, but it sounds like some of you guys have WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS! Get a job or just get a new job, get a life, or just get REAL! I LOVE the car as much as the next guy but c'mon, tears to my eyes??!!
No offense but....maybe its time to get out of the garage, go back in the house & get la!d, ya think????

Someone pissed in your morning tea or what . Why do you have to get out of the garage to get la1d. I use my Yukon for that purpose.

Or... maybe you should stop being so insecure that you pretend never to have feelings. Your ego smells like bad B.O.!

Mike, What you have is called PASSION!! I share it. I have always loved Corvettes. People that are passionate about something are happier than those that are incapable of it. For me it's always been Vettes. Every time I get behind the wheel nothing else matters. It keeps you young. The C6 is the finest Corvette ever made for sheer driving.

PS: It did happen to me once back in 1981. I had just got out and slammed the door ... tears started to form in the corners of my eyes ...as I looked down my index finger was crushed by the door. J/K
Mikey, I'm on your side! My wife and I call her 04 Volvo XC90 a "truck", because that's what it drives like. Good for her to feel secure in it with the grandkids, that's what its all about. I also have a 06 Buick LaCrosse, that is a nice road cruiser, at the right price, that can tow a small boat (No rear wheel drive, BMW, except the SUV's are rated for a hitch that I know of). Needed front wheel drive that could climb a boat ramp and I'm not into trucks. Also, drive it to work in bad weather and back and forth to the beach (110 miles) on weekends. Very comfortable, with heated seats and remote start. But, my real passion is my C6. After 5k+ miles its an amasing car to own. "Tears of Joy"
