Sorry, but it sounds like some of you guys have WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS! Get a job or just get a new job, get a life, or just get REAL! I LOVE the car as much as the next guy but c'mon, tears to my eyes??!!
No offense but....maybe its time to get out of the garage, go back in the house & get la!d, ya think????
Its just a car....after waiting and going through the delivery...drove it for a year...sold it........WHATS NEXT...
Am I the only one who gets tears in his eyes when driving the C6? I can't explain to you in words how satisfying it is to drive a car where you can actually feel where your money went! When I drive the family SUV (Nissan Armada), I know I basically paid for "bulk". That thing is about as satisfying as a mustard sandwich. I guess if you are starving, it'll taste OK! Then there's my wife's 05 Mustang. It's a fun car and I kind of thought it fun to compare the Mustang to the C6 when we first bought the Stang, but I have to tell you after driving both for a while, I really realize what I paid $20k more for to get the C6. The Mustang really is pretty poor in every area when compared to the C6. I've been a C6 owner for a year and a half now and I swear every time I drive that car, I realize what a car can really be when you do everything right. It's not that I try to compare the C6 directly to a Mustang or (God forbid) an SUV, but the C6 makes most vehicles look like someone raided a parts bin, picked out some random crap, and then tried to see what would fit together. As far as I'm concerned, the C6 is the ultimate in form and function. It's not all about performance either. Every other car I've driven, I find myself saying, "Why couldn't they have thought this out. I wish this worked like it does in my Vette." And that goes for everything from the climate controls, to the touch-screen nav, to the keyless entry, and even the position of the seat belt latches.
Just thought I'd share.

When I was 16 (20 years ago) my parents got me this poster that had a 5 car garage, with a vette, porsche, mercedes, ferrari and something else. It said 'Justification for Higher Education'. This poster actually gave me the motivational drive to aim high - so after the Marines, I went to college, got my undergrad(paid for it myself), got a decent job, and now I am about to graduate from Northwestern with an MBA. Since I am so close to graduating, I bought the C6 early as a treat. As a further treat, it looks like I may be heading up the informational tech at a sizeable public company. If this happens, I am getting the Z06 - just because! haha... and the C6 gets the Lingenfelter package I talked about in another thread.
So my dream is finally coming through - and the Corvette had a lot to do with the motivation behind it.
