Nah ............. "Say it ain't so Sam" I post quite often and I've truly only had one warranty issue so far in the first year with the '06 vert. A service active handling warning on the DIC that the dealer fixed in about an hour. I thought I had a loose nut on the passenger seat for a short time. That problem went away when my ex wife left me.
But also please don't anyone try to convince me that this level of quality is either the best that GM could do, or that we ought to just willingly accept it. Why can't we have low cost, good design, AND have it not fall to pieces, too? I don't think that is really unreasonable in this day and age of competition, process knowledge, statistics, materials science, engineering tools, very ready data and testing...
I own the c5 and looking into the c6. I have had Ferrari, Porche and Corvettes in my driveway at the same time. The Porche has some great fit and finish. The Ferrari did too. Although I was not as pleased with the lines inside the Ferrari as with the Porche. Either way our corvette can definetly have a better fit and finish on the interior, not have to have such consistent electrical problems and have a solid paint job. Unfortunately GM is having its financial issues which lead to morale problems witch lead to low concentration on the builder's part. Yes we obviously have a great design and can stay right there with several of the Ferraris and Porches in term of handling, ride and speed and at half the cost, but even at half the cost they can eliminate the above mentioned faults.
have an 07 that I picked up at the museum and drove to FL.... then to Northern California....... 5300 miles.... Only problem was screw in left rear tire that Goodyear fixed for free... Excelllent car..... I expected a lot from this car and got that and more...
Roof delamination
tire splitting
Radio wont play Cds
A/C blows cold on (L)..heat on (R)
HUD quit displaying
headlight assembly on Right cracked
Horn wouldnt stop blowing (made for an interesting ride to the dealer)
motor for (R) window quit working
other than that...its been perfect!!!!!!!!!
Are you sure this was not a flood special ride???? That list sounds like the 05 SSR I sold back to GM

I have to strongly disagree with your comment about low morale and "low concentration on the builder's part", based on direct observation.
I was fortunate to tour the factory as part of the National Corvette Museum delivery process this week and got to carefully observe the builders at work over a period of about 3 hours. They were careful, unhurried and very attentive to the work. The pace of the line is relatively slow - I'd say the workers' pace is about 50 or 60 percent of their possible levels. I saw absolutely no evidence of low morale; also, no horseplay or lack of attention. The workforce was very impressive. If you have the opportunity, you really should go see for yourself.

I had a 99 and 04 C5-- no problems. My post 8/4/06 manufactured C6 is supposed to have the SMC roof, so I'm not anticipating problems. Paints uneven in the Lemans Blue, but I love the color so much, I'll live with it.
The Vettes are actually awfully good cars, with a few glitches here and there. You will love it.
Hell yes it's worth every penny.
#1 It build in the good ol' U.S.A.
#2 I test drove pretty much everything short of the Ferrari and Lambo
#3 It's a SPORTS CAR if you want perfect reliability gat a civic
#4 400 hps
That's a BS price comparison. 40 years later that same Olds would be $35-40K. Gee....you think it's worth the difference now?
I wouldn't pay $40k for an Oldsmobile. Apparently not many other people would either. That's why Oldsmobile is gone. But when they sold for a more reasonable price, they were good values.

I agree. I paid $5553 for a new 912 Porsche in '68. So a bit of price adjustment in values seems in order when attempting to compare prices of autos from one era to another. My C6 is MANY MANY MANY times the car my 912 was. But, then again, so were all my C4s.

Is that a typo? Or do you have the most miles on any C6 out there?
I'm not saying the car isn't worth every dallor. That is why I keep buying them, I've always loved the Corvette. My other Vettes were in the 70s, 80s and 90s, So I've haven't had a C5 or C6 until I get my new one. I'm just reading what people are saying on this site. I don't care if people said they were junk. "I will still have a new Vert in the garage in a month" Got to love the Vette.
